Each January, around the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we publish a double full page ad in the South Bend Tribune to remember and mourn for the millions of unborn children lost to abortion. This past year over 1,300 people from our local community signed our ad stating “we, the following citizens of Michiana, oppose abortion on demand and defend the right to life from fertilization to natural death.” The ad also contains an education piece, most recently the SLED acronym that highlights the philosophical incoherence with the idea that the right to life begins at birth (implied in Roe v. Wade). Click on the images below to view our 2015 Signature Ad.
March for Life
On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, January 22nd, we also take to the streets of South Bend to stand against the decision to legalize abortion. This past year we had nearly 300 people protest in front of our local courthouse.
Our annual essay contest draws applicants from Catholic, Christian, and public schools from throughout the Michiana area. Four winners, two each from high school and middle school, receive scholarships and recognition at our Prayer Dinner.
Each year over 200 people gather to pray for a culture that respects life from conception to natural death. Local clergy, professed religious, and ministers come free, and this past year nearly 40 faith leaders were in attendance. We recognize our Essay Contest winners at this event, and recently awarded the Hero of Life award to Josh Comeau.
