National Day of Protest: Planned Parenthood
In light of the recent federal lawsuit filed against the State of Indiana by Planned Parenthood and the ACLU in an attempt to block the new Dignity for the Unborn Law, St. Joseph County Right to Life will be hosting a peaceful protest of Planned Parenthood Saturday, April 23rd from 11am-12:00pm in front of our local Mishawaka Planned Parenthood. We will be joining hundreds of other organizations around the country on this National Day of Protest in which we take a stand for the women and children who are being victimized by the unethical practices of Planned Parenthood and express our support of HEA 1337, the Dignity for the Unborn Law.
- Planned Parenthood is detrimental to communities, and its opposition to the Dignity for the Unborn Law, HEA 1337, is unwarranted.
- It is our firm belief that protecting unborn babies with certain characteristics (disability, gender, race, etc.) from discrimination ranks higher than the legal right to abortion.
- We desire that all women and unborn children be treated with compassion rather than being victimized by Planned Parenthood’s financial agenda.
For more information regarding the pro-life response to the lawsuit against the State of Indiana and HEA 1337, see official statements released by St. Joseph County Right to Life and Indiana Right to Life.
Location: 3005 Grape Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Map.
Parking: Street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhoods, especially off Eisenhower Dr. Limited parking is available behind the Home Instead building just north of Planned Parenthood. We will have parking attendants on duty to direct cars. Please do not park
in the Planned Parenthood parking lot, nearby apartment lots, or the lot of the vacant business two blocks north of Planned Parenthood (with black plastic covering its logo). We encourage carpooling to this protest, as there is not a great deal of readily available parking!
Children: This protest will be held on Grape Rd. which is typically very busy with fast traffic. Therefore, we do not recommend bringing small children to this protest. If you do want to bring them, we would recommend keeping them in a stroller or watching them diligently.
Sidewalks: We have to make sure to accommodate anyone who is walking on the sidewalks that we will be standing on. This is rare on Grape Rd, but still something to be conscientious of. If a pedestrian who is not involved with the protest is trying to get through, please make sure to give them plenty of space.
Signs: We will provide signs. If you would like to bring your own, we ask that they be specifically targeted at Planned Parenthood, and not contain graphic photos. Call our office at 574.232.5433 or e-mail us at email@example.com if you have questions!
