Pro-Life Youth Essay Contest
"Yes, I take abortion very personally. I was scheduled to be aborted on February 18, 2003 at 9 am that morning. I thank God for giving my mother the wisdom and strength to cancel the procedure."
-2017 Entry, Middle School Division
Each year, Right to Life Michiana sponsors a youth essay contest, cultivating pro-life leadership at a young age by encouraging students to articulate pro-life truth with compassion. The contest gives students the chance to practice expressing their beliefs and think critically about the real-life consequences that stem from a disregard for the value of human life.
This year our contest differs from past contests in that the entry is not an essay, but a letter. Youth are challenged to practice a different written skill by writing a letter to Former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg. Awards for the 2020 Youth Essay Contest will be presented at the Respect Life Prayer Dinner this year, and the deadline for students to submit their letters has been extended to April 30th.
