SOUTH BEND, Ind. — It is no coincidence that some of our most precious gifts are also those that are attacked and manipulated the hardest. Abortion has shown us that this is certainly the case with the gift of life. Nonetheless, the tragedy of degrading the dignity of the human person does not stop with the unborn. In our current culture, we are seeing this same degradation negatively impacting life on the opposite end of the spectrum, as the legalization of euthanasia and assisted suicide is on track to become the next Roe vs. Wade.
Amid rising threats, our community is facing the chilling reality that our most precious gift, life, is under attack in a new way. Through insurance companies and government laws, the disregard for the sanctity of life through natural death is mounting.
The keynote speaker at this year’s Right to Life dinner, Bobby Schindler, will address these advancing issues and illuminate the stakes at hand. Husband, father, and famously brother of euthanasia victim, Terri Schiavo, Bobby now works tirelessly to advocate for the medically vulnerable, serving as president of the Terri Schiavo Life and Hope Network. In the past few months, he has also become an international spokesperson for the case of Charlie Gard, who was denied the opportunity for life-saving treatment by a hospital in the U.K.
The 26th Annual RTL Benefit Dinner is Thursday, October 12th, 2017 and begins with a social hour at 5pm, with the dinner & program at 6:30pm at the Century Center, downtown South Bend.
