Prevention and Monitoring Task Forces

Right to Life is committed to defending and protecting innocent human life from fertilization to natural death. Sitting on state committees for both legislation and enforcement/regulatory oversight, we work with affiliates throughout Indiana to assess current threats and develop a strategic response geared toward prevention and monitoring of anti-life policies and practices. Recognizing the severity of particular local threats, we have assembled special task forces of community professionals to develop and execute these strategies as they pertain to our area.

Abortion Task Force

New legislation set to take effect on September 15, 2022 would shudder abortion clinics across Indiana. Although we expect this legislation to eliminate as much as 95% of abortions in the state, we are aware that Hoosier women will still seek abortions elsewhere. We are hard at work developing strategic outreach to help abortion- vulnerable women in a world post-Roe v. Wade.

Euthanasia/PAS Task Force

Advocates for so-called “Death With Dignity” legislation are working hard to gain a foothold for widespread acceptance of euthanasia/physician-assisted suicide (PAS) in our community. Their strategy is hauntingly similar to the one that was used to legalize abortion 46 years ago: change the  terminology, stretch the truth, and make it sound like a compassionate choice that is in everyone’s best interest. Our task force is closely monitoring this situation, developing plans to fortify the community before opposing efforts break, and working with broader alliances to oppose these threats.
