Heart of Our Work

Testimonies of grace, truth, and love from our team at Right to Life Michiana.

February 2024

“Remember when we were children? And if not for those who loved us and cared enough to show us, where would we be today? Where would we be today?”

There was hardly a dry eye in the house as Gaye finished singing her moving rendition of, “What About the Children?” at the inaugural Michiana African Americans for Life Breakfast held this Black History Month.

Shortly after, Belinda took to the podium to speak a powerful message.

After choosing an abortion in her past, Belinda had a conversion of heart and made it part of her life’s mission to help spare any woman she could from experiencing the pain and heartache she endured as a result of her choice.

Recounting her time serving with a pregnancy resource center in Chicago for three decades following her conversion, Belinda shared many of the challenges faced by pregnant African Americans and the ways in which the abortion industry has taken advantage of these vulnerabilities.

She called upon the local African American community to rise up and protect the inherent dignity of little ones in the womb regardless of the circumstances surrounding their conception.

“We must refuse to let anyone tell us that by protecting innocent human life, we are traitors to our own race!”

Belinda was met by enthusiastic applause, accompanied by shouts of “Come on now!” “Amen” and “Let’s hear it!” as the room was filled with renewed energy to take a stand for our most precious gift of life, “from the womb to the tomb and everywhere in between.”
